How to keep ScanMaker E3 to work with ScanWizard 2.60 under Windows XP system

ScanWizard 2.60 is the last version of scanner driver S/W that can support ScanMaker E3 to work

under Windows XP ( 32 bit ) system through SCSI / EPP ( Printer Port ) connectivity..

The procedure to keep

ScanMaker E3 to work with ScanWizard 2.60 under Windows XP ( 32

bit ) system through SCSI connectivity is as follows.

Step 1. Make sure ScanWizard 2.60 is installed into PC Windows XP ( 32 bit ) system with an

administrator’s privilege.

Step 2. Power up ScanMaker E3 until ScanMaker E3 go ready ( Status LED shall light up in Green

steadily ), and then check the pointer of SCSI Rotary ID Switch is positioned at 6, finally,

make a SCSI cable connection between PC and ScanMaker E3.

Step 3. Check the linking information of ScanMaker E3 in Device Manager from Start  Control

Panel  System  Hardware  Device Manager  Imaging devices  Microtek Scanner

E3 as the picture below..

Check the SCSI Card information of AVA-2903 at SCSI and RAID Controllers in Device

Manager from Start  Control Panel  System  Hardware  Device Manager  SCSI

and RAID controllers  Adaptec AIC-7850 PCI SCSI Controller as the picture below.

Green LED is a status

LED of ScanMaker E3.
